They can't speak out as us, they can't read and write as us but they do have their feelings as ours. being as a human being they also do have their desire as ours, they also wanted to live freely as us, they don't have enough power of money as others but unfortunately they can't share their own feelings with others.  Yes they are real poor people who lives in Magurmadhi  5 magar tole Mechinagar Jhapa.

राष्टिय स्तरको मगर सेमिनार सम्पन्न

यहि अषाढ ३० र ३१ नेपालका बौद्दिक मगरहरुको जमघटका साथ मगर सेमिनार भक्तपुरको नगरकोटमा सम्पन्न भएको छ । कार्यक्रम उत्घाटनका क्रममा बक्तब्य दिनुहुदै मगर जातिको भाषा संस्कृति चाड पर्वमा धेरै विबिधता रहेकोले यस विषयमा एकरुपता ल्याउन सेमिनारले सहयोग गर्ने विश्वास कार्यक्रमको प्रमुख अतिथि तथा नेपाल आदिबासी जनजाति उत्थान राष्टिय प्रतिष्ठानका उपाध्यक्षा झक बहादुर थापाले व्यक्त गर्नु भएको थियो । कार्यक्रममा प्राध्यापक केशरजंग बरालमगरले प्रमुख बक्ताको रुपमा मगरहरु सिप र ज्ञानमा धनी भएता पनि मगरहरुको पहिचान लोप हुने अवस्थामा पुगेको बताउनु भयो । मगरको सिप र ज्ञानलाई न त राज्यले सम्बोधन र जगेना गर्न सक्यो न त मगरहरुबाट नै जर्गेना गर्ने प्रयास भयो उहाले बताउनु भयो ।

भाषिका र लवजको विबिधता

म मगर, मगर गाउमै जन्मि हर्कि बढेर भाषामा पोख्त भएर आएकी हुँ । मलाई मेरो क्षेत्रमा बोलिने भाषिका सबै आउछ तै पनि कहिले काहि आफै असमज्जमा पर्छु कि म भाषा जान्दछु कि जान्दिन । जान्दिन भनौ भने सबै आउछ, जान्दछु भनौ भने कति कुरै बुझि्दन । मगर जाति भित्र ३ वटा भाषिकाहरु छन्। काइके, खाम पाङ र ढुट, काइके र खाम त कुन चराको नाम हो पनि थाहा छैन तर म ढुट सबै जान्दछु तर वास्तबिक अर्थमा जान्दिन पनि । गोलमाल.........................। किन त भन्दा खेरि लवज फरक छन् हाम्रो । मगर बस्ति स्थानान्तरणका कारण लवज फरक हुन पुगेको छ जसले गर्दा मातृ भाषा जान्दछु भन्दा भन्दै पनि नजानिदो रहेछ । पर्वि पहाडी जिल्लाहरुमा बोलिने ढुट भाषिका प्राय एउटै हुन्छन् र लवज पनि केही थोरै भिन्नता भएता पनि ८० प्रतिशत मिल्न जान्छ । तर भौगोलिक हिसाबले हने हो भने पव र पश्चिमी भु भागका एउटै भाषिकामा पनि कति धेरै फरकपना छ । हामी हाम्रो पर्ूर्वी क्षेत्रको ढुट सबै ठिक छ भन्दछौ तर पश्चिम तिर त्यहि गलत भइ रहेको हुन्छ त्यसैले पनि हाल बनि रहेको पाठ्यक्रमलाई अध्यापन गराउनमा धनकुटाका मगर शिक्षकहरुलाई हम्मे हम्मे परेको छ ।

पारदर्शीता, जवाफदेहीता र सुशासन

धनकुटा जिल्लामा सञ्चालित भई रहेका भौतिक पर्वाधारका निर्माणहरु -धारा, पुल, भवन तथा सडक निर्माण) मा लाखौको रकम खर्च गरि रहेको छ । यसरी खर्च गरिएका भौतिक पर्वाधारहरुको सहि तरिकाले कार्यान्वयन भै रहेको छ या छैन भनि विभिन्न निकायहरुले अनुगमन कार्यहरु गरि रहेकै भए तापनि कतिले पारदर्शिता कायम गरि रहेका छन् त कति पारदर्शिता र जबाफ देहीताबाट टाढै रहेका छन् । अझ नेपाली समाजका केही गाऊहरु त यस्ता विकासका पवाधार वा योजनाहरुबाट धेरै पछाडी नै छन् । सम्पर्ण् पछाडी पारीएका जातीहरुको विकास गराउछौ भनेर माथिल्लो तहमा बस्ने मानिसहरु जति सुकै कर्र्लिएता पनि ती क्षेत्रमा बिकासका पर्वाधारहरुको पहुँच पुग्नु एकादेशको कथा मात्रै हुन लागेको छ । केही समाजका टाठाबाठा ठेकेदारले योजना पारेर वा केही समाजका युवाहरु जागृत भएर योजनाहरु लाने प्रयास गरेतापनि पर्याप्त पैसा नपुगेर आधा काम गरि अलपत्र परेको अवस्था छदैछ भने केही योजनाहरुले विकासको नाममा बिनास निम्त्याइ रहेका पनि छन् ।

नेपाली चलचित्र भन्ने वित्तिकै नाक खुम्चाउने हामी नेपालीहरुको लागि अब भने केही थोरै भए पनि राहत मिल्ने प्रकारको नेपाली फिल्महरु बजारमा आउन थालेका छन् ।

नेपाली समाजमा हर्ुर्किदै गरेको बेरोजगारिपना र आजका नेपाली युवाको आवश्यकता, चाहाना  जस्ता विषयहरुको अभावलाई बिश्लेषण गर्न खोजिएको छ भने ति अतृप्त चाहाना र अभाबका कारण कस्तो सोच उत्पन्न गराउदै छ समाजका युवामा भन्ने कुरा राम्रै सँग चित्रण गरिएको छ । अझ भन्नु पर्दा चलचित्र लुटमा मानिसलाई पैसाले कति सम्म गिराउछ भन्ने कुरालाई राम्रै सँग देखाएको छ ।

मेरा जीवनका पाना

र्सवप्रथम नेपाली बिर गोर्खाली नारी गौरा प्रसाइलाई क्रान्तिकारी लाल अभिबादन अनि सलाम । गौराको संर्घष, हिम्मत र साहसलाई सलाम अझ एउटा नेपाली समाजमा हर्र्की बढेकी चेलीले कोठी सम्म पुगेर आफ्नै अस्मिता लुटाइएका जीवनका तिता भोगाईलाई पृष्ठभुमी बनाइ पाठक सामु राख्ने हिम्मतलाई झन धेरै सलाम ।

हामी मानब जाति सबैको व्यक्तिगत पानाहरु हुन्छन्, आफ्ना आफ्नै किस्सा अनि संग्रह । फरक यत्ति हो कि कतिले जिबनका पानाहरुलाई र्सार्थक रुपमा पल्टाउछन् कतिले निर्रथक बनाई पल्टिन दिइ रहन्छन् त कति को अर्थ हिन पाना आफै आफै पल्टिइ रहन्छन । जीवन भोगाईका क्रममा कतिले जीउनकै लागि साहसिलो पाइला चाल्नु पर्ने हुन्छ त कसैले सरल सुकोमल गलैचामै मात्र गुजारा गर्न पनि पाएका हुन्छन् । यस्तै जीवनाका कथा, गाथाको संगालो हो मेरा जीवनका पाना । गौरा प्रर्साईको यस उपन्यासका महिला पात्र जो आफै भएर लेखिएको छ वास्तवमै शाहसिली र नीडर साच्चै नेपाली नारी हुन् जसले आधी हुरी, भेलबाढी चटान सँग संर्घष गरेर समाज परिवर्तनको लागि लडेकी छन् । उनि साच्चै महान छिन् उनको यो संग्रह भित्रका हरेक कथाहरुले महिला भित्रको दैवि शक्तिलाई उदाँग पारेकी छन् ।

Need a Monitoring to get good result in every project

Hilly town “Dhankuta”, situated at the eastern part of Nepal, which is the administrative headquarters of eastern development region. Most of the regional offices were stated around Dhankuta bazaar area and have been NGOs offices. Then and now, there is a sharp contrast between bazaar and it is surrounded by rural villages. The town primarily populated by Newar but later other castes types also mixed and run the mixed culture and society. It is commercial centre, but a later developing means of transportation and roads, some commercial have shared at different commercial areas like Hile, Pakhribas, Uttarpani, Sindhuwa, Jitpur, Leguwa etc. by the connection of North south, Koshi highway with Dhankuta bazaar and being the development of every field like road networks, distributions electricity fulfill the physical infrastructure of development slowly.

Friendship and psychophobia

‘Hello’, I popped into room, he replies back quickly -hello there. I got used with him now, I can't joke with him properly but i want to, smile to him and want to share with him sometimes. But he seems like he doesn’t care, so what? I don’t have to worry about it, he listens and some time he doesn't, he makes little tiny replies in between like yes, uh.. huh...hmn....ok which makes our conversation more interesting.

Myths and prediction need to discuss and finalize

The Magar's are largest indigenous people in Nepal. They have 16,22,421 Population in total (within Nepal, Source: wikipedia). They have their own language and culture,770116 speak a Magar language as their mother tongue they called themselves as " Bhumiputra" (son of land) in Nepal but still they are fighting for the their own territory and the federal stat. Since a 1990, influencing with Buddhism and they started to saying that all the Magars are Buddist and they must fallow the Buddist religion and become Buddist. Before they were Hindu and all of them fallowed the Hindu rituals. But having seen their own traditional rituals or culture and their behavior we can say they are neither Hindu nor Buddist, But they are Naturalist (Prakriti Pujak). Because they worship for the stone, wind, water, land and Jungle even they believe the spirit and ghosts. If somebody dead in a society then the priest or Dhami (a powerful person) predict that what he or she become after dead. In Magar society, they purify within 10 days and the last day of purification they know the dead person rebirth or not? To know that they need a ash or water (its depend up on region, some where they look in ash and some where they used clean water from the tap). In our context (eastern part of Nepal) most of them uses the ash to know that things and they called it Migya bhakki or Ugya bhakki (to separate the soul). Having their own power they start to calling the dead persons soul and that spirit left the symbol in ash just like mark of Dog, cat, cow, mouse, birds and etc etc. if the mark as like cat then they believe the dead person become a cat after dead (it means he or she rebirth being as a cat) same as like other.

Life goes on: Afnai kura

The words Research and Researcher were totally new for me at beginning of 2005/06. Because I was new in town, new in ktm, new in TU J, I was unknown about it because of lack of information and being far from town because I was born and grownup in Dhankuta. When I heard  I was being like “huh? What the hell is that? Actually I was in bindaas girl when I was in Dhaknuta and I didn’t get the opportunity and environment to know all about it there. Also I never tried to go in a environment like that, I loved to go to visit, hanging out with friend, watching  tv serials specially hindi series ‘Kasauti jindagiki, kyu ki sas vi kavi bahu thi, kahani ghar ghar ki and all, and wanted to be like prerana, tulasi, prerana and etc.

When I came to Kathmandu, I met some elites and elders who wanted to be academist and they pulled me towards their way. And again I got the chances to sit with them who were activist in Ethnic movements and well known in Academic sector.

Then I got chance to do Research too. It has interesting part, I still remember one day one of my friend came to me and asked “ hey, would you like to do the research in your own caste? SNV Nepal is giving the grands for it And  was being dump J my eyes wide opened and asked to her “what is that? “ then I started to know about it, lots of elders supported to me to know the meaning of that and also I got the training to write a proposal to do the research from one organization (forgot the name), being as a student’s of population I was not informed about proposal till the date J . After having lots of classes finally I was selected on SNV Apprentice researcher.

Focus out: Regional Museum being like a Ghost home due to lack of preservation and perpetuation

A building in which objects of historical, scientific, artistic, or cultural interest are stored and exhibited is called museum. Regional museum of Dhankuta is established in Rana period. 16 Districts of eastern part of Nepal has lots of Ethnicity and cultural groups. And I believe this museum’s objectives is preserves all the culture and their traditional things which they adapted by origin.


It was my third visit in museum, I have been back to this museum after an decades “Najik ko tirtha hela” the saying is being true for me now  but the bad thing is that there were nothing changed within a decade it means no any new stuffs added there of course things have been old and dusty enough.

सबै भन्दा ठुलो कुरा आत्मसन्तुष्टि नै हो

मानिस प्राणि मध्येकै सर्व श्रेष्ठ प्राणि भएकोले पनि होला मिठो खाने, राम्रो लाउँने र आनन्द दायक जिवन शैली कै सबैले अपेक्षा गर्छन तर समय र भाग्यले सबैलाई कहा साथ दिन्छन र? हरेकको सपना हुन्छ सुखि र खुसिमय जिवन यापन गर्ने त्यही सुखि र समृद्दी चाहार्दै चाहार्दै भौतारिन्छन युवाहरु । यसक्रममा कोहि लाग्छन सात समुन्द्र पारी कोही नजिकैको सहर तिर । तर मानिस जातैले एक लोभी प्राणी हो जसलाई कतिले पनि पुग्दैन । एक छाक टार्न नपुगेको अवस्थामा छाक मात्र टार्न पाए म सन्तुष्ट हुन्थे भन्छन छाक टार्न पाए पछि होइन शरिर ढाक्न एक टुक्रा कपडा पनि पाए हुन्थ्यो भन्छन शरिर ढाक्न पाए अहो शिर लुकाउने यसो ओत पाए हुन्थ्यो भन्छन त्यो सबै पुग्दै गए पछि बिलासिताका सामानको आवश्यकता महशुस गर्न थाल्छन त्यो पनि पुरा भए अझै राम्रो र उच्चस्तरको हुनु पर्छ भन्छन । गाउमा एउटा घर हुनेले शहरमा पनि घरको आवश्यकता देख्छन् शहरमा जोड्न पाए अझै ठुलो सहर ताक्छन् हुदा हुदा सके बिदेशै ताक्छन जहा अझै धेरै सुख सुबिधा होस यसको अर्थ हामी कतिमा पनि सन्तुष्ट हुन सक्दैनौ तर हुदै भएन भने पनि मरेका त छैनौ । सँसारमा मुस्किलले ५ प्रतिशत व्यक्ति होलान जो आफु सँग जे छ त्यसबाट पुर्ण सन्तुष्ट मानेर बसेका छन् ।

यति खेर खेलमय बनेको छ नेपाल !! काठमाण्डौ र धनकुटा भने फुटबलमय !!!

खेल जिवनको एक महत्वपुर्ण सारथी हो जसले मानिसलाई स्वास्थ्य त राख्छ नै त्यसमाथी फुर्तिलो पनि बनाउछ । आजभोलि नेपाल निकै खेलमय बनेको छ गत हप्ता मात्र पश्चिमाञ्चल खेलकुद महोत्सब सम्पन्न भएको छ र केही दिन यता काठमाण्डौमा एएफसी च्यालेन्ज कप फुटबल प्रतियोगिता भइ रहेको छ । हाल सम्म घरेलु टिम नेपाल प्यालेस्टाइन र माल्दिभ्स सँग खेलेका दुइ वटै खेलमा कुनै पनि गोल नलगाइ सेमि फाइनलमा पुग्ने आशा टुटाइ खेलबाट बाहिरिएको छ भने छिमेकी राष्ट्र भारतका खेलाडीहरु पनि खेलबाट बाहिरी सकेका छन् ।

बिबिध हिँसा बिचको आजको नारी दिवस

हरेक वर्ष मार्च ८ मा मनाइने नारी दिवस फेरी यो बर्ष पनि घुम्दै फिर्दै आइ पुगेको छ । हरेक महिला समुह तथा हरेक महिलाहरुले मनाइने यो दिवसमा महिला अधिकारको पक्षमा भाषण, प्रतिबद्धता, अभियान र दिवसको अभाव छैन । हरेक वर्ष केही न केही नारा राखेर महिलाविरुद्धको हिसाबिरोधी अभियानमा लागि रहेकै छन् नेपाली महिलाहरु। यद्धपि महिला दिवस मनाउने क्रममै महिला अधिकार हननका घटनाहरू पनि सार्वजनिक नभैरहेका होइनन्। यसले महिला अधिकारको तथा हिंसा निर्मूल पार्ने स्पष्ट सरकारी नीतिको अभाव तथा भएका नीतिको कार्यान्वयन एवं अनुगमन गर्न नसकी सामाजिक परिवर्तन तथा सोचमा परिबर्तन आउन नसकेको प्रष्ट छ ।

होलि रे सरररर

सधै झै उमँगको ठेली सहित यो वर्ष पनि आयो रँगहरुको पर्व होली र सदभाव पूर्ण रँगहरु दलेर बिदा पनि हुदैछ। गत बर्ष त्यो भन्दा पहिलो बर्ष अझ त्यो भन्दा पनि अघिल्ला अघिल्ला बर्षहरु भन्दा यो बर्षको होलि निकै फरक होलि बन्यो मेरो लागी । फरक यो मानेमा थियो कि यो बर्षको होलि साच्चै सदभाबको होली थियो, जहा लोलाको चुटाइ थिएन, जहा जबरजस्तिपन थिएन, जहा फोहोर पानी वा ढलको फोहोरको बर्षा थिएन । थियो त केवल माया ममता सदभाव अनि खुशियाली सहितको रँग र त्यसैमा मुछिएका उमँगका फोहराहरु । साथै एकआपसमा सदभाव पूर्ण होलीको शुभकामना साटासाट थियो । मैले यो नयाँ अँकको नेपाल साप्ताहिकमा अस्तिमात्र ब्रजेश दाईको लेख पढ्दै थिएँ । "फागुको आतकँ" जसले मेरा बिगतहरुलाई सिनेमाको पर्दामा झै फ्लासब्याक देखाइ दिएको थियो । त्यो दर्दनाक कथा कहानी पढ्दै थिए जसलाई म स्वय आफैले पनि बिगतका बर्षमा काठमाण्डौ बसाइमा भोगेकी थिए । त्यहा फरक मात्र एक चिजको थियो त्यो फरकपना म र लेखमा रहेकी सानी सानी नानीहरु । मैले होली नमनाएकी करिब चार बर्षै हुन लागेछ । हुन त म पहिला देखी नै खासै होली र रँगहरुकी प्रेमि त होइन तथापि कहिले काही साथीभाइले लौन भन्दा नाई नभन्ने मै पर्दछु । मलाई फागु खेलि सकेपछिको रँगहरुको रँगिचँगि अलि मन पर्दैन। उल्लेखै गर्नु पर्दा मैले करिब करिब ८ बर्ष अगाडीको होलिमा मेरा सहपाठीहरु सँग केही पल यहि धनकुटामा होलि पर्व मनाएकि थिए तर त्यो बेला पनि मैले खुलेर होली अर्थात फागु खेल्न पाएकि थिएन कारण थियो धनकुटामा रहेको समस्या अर्थात पानीको अभाव । वास्तवमा त्यतिखेर पनि अहिले जस्तै पानिको हाहाकार नै थियो घरमा त्यसैले साथीहरुले रँग दल्न खोज्दा पनि रँगको एलर्जी छ भनि ढाटेको कुरा अझै ताजै छ । त्यस पछिको होली भनेको करिब वि स २०६४ साल ताका हो क्यारे (मलाई ठ्याक्कै मिति थाहा भएन) कान्तिपुर एफ एमले खेलाएको होली हँगामामा ललितपुरमा सहभागि भइ रमाएकि थिए । त्यसबेलाको होली पनि फरक किसिमको रमाइलो थियो किनकि म त्यहा अपरिचित १९ जना नया साथीहरु सित होलि खेल्न पुगेकी थिए । त्यस दिनको होलीलाई पनि दुइ चिजले सम्झन योग्य बनाएको छ
